This year Dishoom held a Diwali celebration, the beginning of the Indian New Year, for families and friends at The Crossing, next door to their King’s Cross restaurant. They welcomed guests with tasty Dishoom snacks, mithai, chai and Indian soft drinks.

Vayu Naidu captivated the audience with the fabulous story of Diwali. Guests joined workshops creating Diwali diya thali and learning the traditional dandiya dance. Collaborative Rangoli, traditional Indian pavement-art, was decorated by families of all ages and face painting and henna could be found on many happy participants. There was even a big Diwali, lucky dip bag being passed around that many children could be found diving into!

'Alistair was a delight to work with. He arrived promptly to photograph our Diwali party in a large venue in King’s Cross. He fulfilled the brief perfectly and was extremely discreet!!! I barely saw him during the event and yet he managed to capture the most wonderful shots. Polite, efficient and talented…will definitely look to use him again.'
